Tutorial: Steam Workshop Upload
In this tutorial, you will learn how to upload your own mod to the SteamWorkshop. For this, you need to have a “local mod”, one that has not been installed through the workshop, ie. the one created in the “First Mod”-Tutorial.
Step 1: Find your mod in the Mod Management UI
Section titled “Step 1: Find your mod in the Mod Management UI”Start the game into Mod Management UI via Steam Launch Options or by passing the -ModManagementUI commandline flag. Find the mod you want to upload, select it, and click the Upload to Steam Workshop button on the details panel of the mod on the lower right.
Step 2: Preparing Steam Workshop Upload
Section titled “Step 2: Preparing Steam Workshop Upload”If this is the initial upload (and not an update to your mod), you will need to request a SteamWorkshop Item ID first:
- Click the Prepare Steam Workshop Item button right at the top.
- After a short time, the button should vanish and be replaced with a long number: This is your mods SteamWorkshop Item ID.
Once you have your SteamWorkshop Item ID, fill out the rest of the details (Description, Tags, Visibility, Image, …).
Step 3: Upload to Steam
Section titled “Step 3: Upload to Steam”Click the big Upload to SteamWorkshop button at the bottom.
After the upload is complete, you should now see a “Steam Workshop” link in your mod’s Details panel.
